Abbottstown, Pa. (August 18, 2015) — The field of current fan favorites has been set for the $10,000 Winner-Takes-All Shootout that will take place at the Fred Rahmer Promotions Legends of Central Pennsylvania event presented by Apple Chevrolet on Wednesday, August 26 (Raindate: August 27) at the Lincoln Speedway. These six competitors will join a group of Legends and the 358 Sprint Cars as participants in the three-division spectacle.
Over 1,000 votes were cast for 88 different drivers in a write-in ballot on the Fred Rahmer Promotions website. The drivers with the most votes, in order, were: Danny Dietrich (Gettysburg, PA), Brian Montieth (Phoenixville, PA), Dale Blaney (Fowler, OH), Greg Hodnett (Thomasville, PA), Alan Krimes (Denver, PA) and Lucas Wolfe (Mechanicsburg, PA).
These drivers will compete in six 5-lap segments. Each driver will have the opportunity to start in each position from 1-6 in the six segments. Drivers will be awarded points for the individual segments. The points accumulation will determine the winner of the $10,000 top prize.
All this sets the stage for the highlight of the evening — for one night only, driving greats from the ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s will compete in 410 Sprint Cars with heat races and a special 20-lap feature event. Participating legends include: Doug Wolfgang, Steve Smith Sr., Steve Stambaugh, Lynn Paxton, Keith Kauffman, Cris Eash, Kenny Adams, Billy Pauch, Todd Shaffer, Steve Siegel, Bobby Weaver, and Jeff Shepard.
These tenacious veterans have amassed over 1500 victories at Central Pennsylvania’s famed dirt ovals and are anxious to strap back into these 800 horsepower race cars – which will be painted up with vintage graphics in the style of the cars they made famous.
The evening of nostalgia will feature interviews and anecdotes with yesterday’s star drivers, led by Motor Racing Network radio personality Steve Post.
Also, the 358 Sprint Cars will be on hand competing in a full program, including a 25-lap main with an increased special event purse structure.
The action takes place on Wednesday, August 26 (raindate: August 27). General Admission Adult tickets are $20, Students 12-17 are $15, and Children 11 years old and under are FREE! Pit Admission is $30.
Tickets are currently available for purchase at the Lincoln Speedway office or by calling 717-624-2755; major credit cards are accepted. Fans that purchase advance tickets will be able to enter the speedway one hour earlier than those purchasing tickets the day of the event. Fans can use this time to secure their seats and participate in a special autograph session with the Legend drivers. Advance ticket holders arriving early will receive a special edition poster featuring all of the Legends, while supplies last.
For fans unable to attend the live event, a live pay-per-view broadcast will be available on DirtStation.com. The broadcast will feature vintage racing highlights, driver interviews, and in-depth career retrospectives.
