FRED RAHMER PROMOTIONS

After a successful career as a driver, Pennsylvania Sprint Car kingpin, Fred Rahmer hung up his racing helmet to wear that hat of racing promoter.  After landing a date during Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speedweek – an event that drew the largest car count of the week and a standing room only crowd – Fred Rahmer Promotions was launched.

Fred Rahmer Promotions organizes 410 Sprint Car special event races at the Path Valley Speedway – a ¼ mile dirt track located in Spring Run, Pennsylvania.

Pa’s 25 Best Sprint Car Drivers in 30 Years — No. 1 Fred Rahmer
By: Jeremy Elliott

Accomplishments: Rahmer has a gaudy 417 career Sprint Car wins, 168 of which have come at Lincoln Speedway. He has four Tuscarora 50 triumphs, five Selinsgrove National Open tallies and is an eight-time Kenny Weld Memorial winner at Lincoln. He also has a pair of prelim victories at the Knoxville Nationals. Rahmer has 25 track championships, 10 at Lincoln and eight more at Williams Grove.

Did you know: The Salfordville driver didn’t enter the Sprint Car ranks the traditional way. He came from the modified division, a class in which he amassed 99 wins — Rahmer has over 500 career checkered flags — and seven track championships. Forty five of Rahmer’s modified victories came at demanding Grandview Speedway.

Why here: Fans either love or hate Fred Rahmer. But what neither faction can argue is that the numbers stack up in his favor. He’s earned 417 wins, all in our time frame and 25 championships, the first of which came at Susquehanna Speedway in 1989. Rahmer lacks a Williams Grove National Open score, but he has beaten the World of Outlaws at the famous half mile and leads the overall win list at the speedway with 90. The most notable of which came in 2010 when he blasted from 24th to first, something that has never been done in a WoO event. Throw in those Knoxville National prelim wins in 2005 and 2006 and 13 Pennsylvania Speed Week titles, and Rahmer, who was inducted into the Sprint Car Hall of Fame in 2009, deserves to be at the top of this list.
